Modular Frameworks faq's
What is the Sure-Foot Modular Framework?
The Sure-Foot modular framework is an innovative support system that helps contractors to install air-conditioning units such as condensers VRV/VRF and splits and small to medium AHU’s. The concept revolves around the simplicity and efficiency that contractors require onsite. There is no need to predetermine or design your support system with Sure-Foot; the system consists of a base frame that extends infinitely until it supports what you want.
The Sure-Foot modular supports are free standing, modular, independent from the roof design and best of all flexible. The modular support system consists of a base frame that includes four Sure-Foot support feet, four adjustable leg assemblies, two base frame sliding beam and two base frame beams. The Sure-Foot extender kit consists of two Sure-Foot support feet, two base frame beams, two base frame sliding beams and two centre assemble legs. The extending principle is simple and effective.
What sizes do they come in?
The Sure-Foot Base frame and extender frame is 1200mm long x 1200mm wide. The weight is 29KG and it has an adjustable range of 280mm to 405mm high. Utilising the base frame and then adding extender frames, building services contractors can build themselves whatever frame size they realistically require.
What does it Support?
The Sure-Foot Support System range will support air conditioning condensers such as splits and VRV/VRF condensers but also small to medium mechanical units such as AHU’s.
What are they made from?
The Sure-Foot support foot is manufactured from high density Polypropylene and the frames are fabricated from galvanised mild steel. The Sure-Foot supports system is designed for quick fix installation utilising sliding beams that can be adjusted to the fixing points on the units being supported.
Can they be moved or relocated?
The Sure-Foot Base frame and extender frame are designed to be flexible to the M&E engineers' needs. The frames are free standing utilising the Sure-Foot support foot so they do not require any secondary trades to waterproof the supports into the roofing system.
The independent free standing nature of the Sure-Foot support system makes setting out work simpler; contractors do not need to predetermine services locations but can be flexible in their approach to building services installations. If there is a change in services location as the project develops then the sure-Foot support system can respond.
How do they compare with other similar products?
Sure-Foot is unique in being the first supplier to offer a modular system that starts with a base unit and then is extended as required. The Sure-Foot support system offers contractors the most versatile and simple support installation at the lowest cost.
How many are required?
As many units as the job requires. Typically for a single VRV/VRF condenser or for a double split, the base frame will suffice. For any more than this, an extender frame can be adjoined to the Sure-Foot base frame for each additional VRV/VRF condenser or two splits. This process can continue on and on, extending the frame and creating banks of condensors. If required contractors can utilise the frame to install larger units such as AHU, providing the appropriate structural and roofing checks are conducted.
