SURE-FOOT SUPPORT TOOL
What is the Sure-Foot support foot?
The Sure-Foot roof support foot is a Polypropylene round base, with a diameter of 362mm, height of 96mm and a weight of 1.6kg. The base is designed to accommodate standard strut and the Sure-Foot leg assembly for either prefabricated or onsite fabricated support frameworks.
The Sure-Foot roof support foot is the simplest option for contractors and can be held in stock by installers. When an installation is required, all that is needed is some bases and then standard installation components such as bolts and open channel strut.
Each Sure-Foot base comes complete with a 6mm rubber isolation mat that creates a co-efficient of friction. This reduces the risk of the bases slipping on the roof or damaging the roof's waterproofing.
What does it support?
The Sure-Foot roof support foot supports building services such as HVAC, air conditioning, air handling units and condensors, service runs such as pipes and cable tray and whatever the installer is looking to put on a flat roof. The Sure-Foot support foot works with the Sure-Foot leg assembly or with standard open channel strut, so that installer can create their own support framework.
What are they made from?
The Sure-Foot support foot is manufactured from high density Polypropylene.
Can they be moved or relocated?
The Sure-Foot Support System is a free standing support system that sits on the roof, independent from the waterproofing. The sure-foot support can be relocated in instances where there are re-roofing projects. This will ensure that the roof has a continuous waterproofing finish without the construction of plinths or steels that need to be flashed and waterproofed by separate trades.
Services supported on the Sure-Foot complete foot can be adjusted in height via the threaded adjuster. This enables all installations to be to be installed level on flat roofs with a fall.
How do they compare with other similar products?
Supporting building services on a proprietary support system is not a new concept. However Sure-Foot Systems has identified the need for a low cost simple range of products that can be used on installations without the need for extensive design discussions or long lead times.
Contractors using the Sure-Foot support range have the full flexibility of buying single bases so they can design their own installations. Alternatively they can adopt the quick fixing modular supports such as the base frame, which can be extended infinitely according to their requirements. This is something that is truly unique to the Sure-Foot Support System.
How many will I need?
As many as the job requires. Typically for a service run support be it duct, pipes or cable tray there will be two Sure-Foot support feet. Supporting anything larger such as an AHU, then the contractor will have to determine how they wish to spread the load. The greater the number of bases the lower the point loads but thought must be given to sectional loads and the uneven loads of units.
